Goals

Keep physical play central

Players handle roads, settlements, cities, land tiles, and the robber. They sit together, negotiate, and read a real board. Phones complement this interaction by handling private information and choices that are awkward to express through physical pieces.

Reduce administration

The intended system detects placement and removal, displays number tokens, determines resource production after an entered dice roll, tracks the bank and game state, and helps validate actions. Automatic dice sensing has not been specified.

A public screen can explain production and turn progress. Each player's phone can show their private resources, development cards, trades, and prompts.

Build in useful increments

Begin with seven hexes, passive resistor-coded pieces, and a known electrical chain. Prove contacts and sensing before depending on them for game actions. The longer-term board has 19 land positions; automatic neighbour discovery is outside the first prototype.

The documentation establishes interfaces and responsibilities. Product firmware, game applications, a complete mechanical design, and production-ready electronics are separate implementation work.
